All About You
ALL ABOUT YOU
(written by Kenneth Cope)
All about You, all about You
For me, Lord, it’s all about You
I may be a word on the street
But You’re the talk of the town
I’m just a drop in the bucket
You’re the flood coming down
I know You’ve said, that for You, it’s all about us
And You prove it with all that You do
But, for me, Lord
For me, Lord, it’s all about You
All about You, all about You
For me, Lord, it’s all about You
All about You, all about You
Gonna tell the world all about You
I may be a light on the hill
But You’re the blazing of day
I’m just a piece of the puzzle
You’re the Truth and the Way
And it’s awkward for me to be lavished with praise
When it’s You who should get Your due
So from this day on
I’m insisting it’s all about You
You’re the One behind the sun and moon and starlit skies
You’re the breath of all that runs and crawls and swims and flies
You’re behind every tree, every mountain and sea
And You’ve managed to keep from view
I’m gonna hold You up, gonna make a fuss
Gonna tell the world all about You
We’re the reason You do what You do
But for me, Lord, it’s all about You
You’re the reason I do what I do
’Cause for me, Lord, it’s all about You
All about You, all about You
Yeah, for me, Lord, it’s all about You

Fire of God
FIRE OF GOD
(written by Kenneth Cope)
Eleven, twelve, thirteen—emerging anxious and aware
Yearning for the burning, searching for the sign
Then fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen—I’d see more than my share
The times I felt His fire, I was so much more alive
Seventeen, eighteen—and craving the fanning of the flame
Sometimes waiting, but always more to come
Then at nineteen and twenty—He sent me to labor for His name
A time when we were one
My will was offered up and consumed in the fire of God
It’s a power that I can’t explain
As it flows and it grows and it shapes my faith
There’ve been hundreds of moments I can’t deny
When I brushed against the fire, or dwelt in the fire of God
Warmed by the fire, wondrous fire of God
A decade of twenties—He led me to learn among the world
Finding me a lady, and starting up a home
And love fueled the journey—our thirties were melted into gold
With children of our own
The glimpse we caught of heaven’s throne was steeled in the fire of God
It’s a power that I can’t explain
As it flows and it grows and it shapes my faith
There’ve been hundreds of moments I can’t deny
When I brushed against the fire, or dwelt in the fire of God
Lighted words sent to purge my soul
Holy feelings, impressions to mark the road
There’ve been staggering signs and I’ll watch for more
When I’m caught up in the fire, immersed in the fire of God
I’m living for the fire
Longing for the fire
Swept up in the fire
Can’t live without the fire
It’s a power that I can’t explain
As it flows and it grows and it shapes my faith
There’ve been thousands of moments I won’t deny
Forged in the fire…
Lighted words sent to purge my soul
Holy feelings, impressions to mark the road
There’ve been staggering signs and I’ll watch for more
When I’m caught up in the fire
When I’m immersed in the fire of God
So filled with the fire, awesome fire of God
Can you feel the fire?
Come, and feel the fire of God

His Name is Love
HIS NAME IS LOVE
(written by Kenneth Cope)
My name is Ego—I desire to be admired
And the center of attention
My name is Pride—it’s true my thoughts and ways are higher
Every rule needs an exception
He leaves the fold to find me
His touch reclaims, reminds me
His face is hope, His name is Love
My name’s Impatience—I’ve got better things to wait on
Can’t it just work out the first time?
My name is Anger—all this bottled-up frustration
Shows in outbursts of the worse kind
He leaves the fold to find me
His touch reclaims, reminds me
His face is hope, His name is Love
He’s writing His name on my heart
Working the change from the inside
Pouring out grace from the start
With nothing but love
My name is Condemnation—I’ve got two eyes that watch for fault
And ears to catch you
My name is Rumor—I’ve a tongue that runs to mischief
And a heart that sees right past you
He leaves the fold to find me
His touch reclaims, reminds me
His face is hope, His name is Love
He’s writing His name on my heart
Working the change from the inside
Pouring out grace from the start
With nothing but love
My name’s Forgetful—I get panicked in the moment
Though His love’s come to astound me
My name’s Unsteady—seems I’m almost touching heaven
Or sin is crashing down around me
He leaves the fold to find me
His touch reclaims, reminds me
His face is hope, His name is Love
Oh, Lord, don’t fail to find me
Reclaim, reform, refine me
Till my face is hope, and my name is Love
My name is Weakness—my name is Fallen
His name is Jesus
His name is Love

Broken
BROKEN
(words by Kenneth Cope; music by Kenneth & Eliza Cope)
—inspired by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
Broken clouds give rain
Broken soil grows grain
Broken bread feeds man for one more day
Broken storms yield light
The break of day heals night
Broken pride turns blindness into sight
Broken souls that need His mending
Broken hearts for offering
Could it be that God loves broken things
Broken chains set free
Broken swords bring peace
Broken walls make friends of you and me
To break the ranks of sin
To break the news of Him
To put on Christ till His name feels broken in
Broken souls that need His mending
Broken hearts for offering
I believe that God loves broken things
And yet, our broken faith, our broken promises
Sent love to the cross
And still, that broken flesh, that broken heart of His
Offers us such grace and mercy
Covers us with love undeserving
This broken soul that cries for mending
This broken heart for offering
I’m convinced that God loves broken me
Praise His name—my God loves broken things
So, broken cloud—Give rain
And broken soil—Grow grain
And broken bread—Feed man for one more day

Where You Are
WHERE YOU ARE
(by Rich Mullins & Beaker)
CHORUS:
I’m talkin’ Daniel in the den of the lions
Talkin’ Jonah in the belly of a whale
Talkin’ three Hebrew children
And they’re standing in the furnace, the fiery furnace
But the fire didn’t burn them
And the lions didn’t bite
And the Lord reached down and you can be sure that
Everything turned out right
Oh you’ll meet the Lord in the furnace
Long time ’fore you meet Him in the sky
And where you are ain’t where you wish that you was
Well your life ain’t easy and the road is rough
But where you are is where He promised to be
From the ends of the world to every point of need
REPEAT CHORUS
Meet Him in your time of trial
Meet Him in your hour of prayer
You can reach out and I’ll bet
That you’ll find that He’s right there
Where you are, however grim it may seem
This is real life baby—this ain’t no Hollywood dream
And where you are, no matter what you may face
You’re gonna find out real soon, what they mean they say
REPEAT CHORUS
Meet Him in your time of trial
Meet Him in your hour of prayer
You can reach out and I’ll bet
That you’ll find that He’s there
And the fire won’t burn you
And the lions won’t bite
And the Lord will reach down and you can be sure that
Everything will turn out all right
Oh you’ll meet the Lord in the furnace
Long time ’fore you meet Him in the sky
Then you’ll meet Him in the sky

Tell Me
TELL ME
(written by Kenneth Cope)
Voices surround me, all set to confound me
Damaging hope and fostering fear
Rules and commandments ring heavy handed
In my ears, loud and clear
Sins, and omissions, laws and conditions
And, while I feel the need to make these known
Who’ll speak of heaven’s every intention
To make me whole, and bring me home?
Tell me, tell of a God that won’t slow down
That will not rest till I am found
Tell of His heart that won’t let go
His arms that long to hold me
Tell me, tell of that Love that knows my face
And speaks my name
Tell me
Promises, favors, but never for failures
So how can I ever measure up?
I need a Shepherd ready for effort
Who’ll spare no cost to find the lost
Tell me, tell of a Lord that won’t slow down
That will not rest till I am found
Tell of His heart that won’t let go
His arms that long to hold me
Tell me, tell of that Love that knows my face
And speaks my name
Tell me
Tell me, tell me all about Them—tell me
I need to hear more said about Them—tell me
Won’t someone else beside me tell me?
Tell me
Tell me, tell of Their search that won’t slow down
That They won’t rest till I am found
Tell of Their hearts that won’t let go
Their arms that long to hold me
Tell me, tell of that love that knows my face
And speaks my name
Tell me

6. Tell Me
Kenneth Cope
Him, and Him Alone
HIM, AND HIM ALONE
(written by Kenneth Cope)
Him, and Him alone
Bowed to the ground as the weight of sins fell crushing Him alone
Blood on His face when the powers of hell rushed in on Him alone
Scorched with the pains of eternal fire engulfing Him alone
Him, and Him alone
How could I think it’s mine to merit
Or speak of my share in it
This saving work He wrought alone
I’ve been a fool to believe I’d earn it
Or suppose I could deserve it
By words and deeds I’d call my own
From this day on
I know I’m saved by Him alone
Him, and Him alone
Scorned and abused though redeeming love would spring from Him alone
The sword of God’s vengeance for broken law swung down on Him alone
Hung on a cross till He cried “It’s finished”—just Him alone
Him, and Him alone
How could I think it’s mine to merit
Or speak of my share in it
This saving work He wrought alone
I’ve been a fool to believe I’d earn it
Or suppose I could deserve it
By words and deeds I’d call my own
From this day on
I know I’m saved by Him alone
His cross and death are foolishness to those who do not know this
They trust in flesh and look another way
But blessed are those who place their hope in Him alone
For He is mighty
He alone is mighty to save
I will not think it’s mine to merit
Or speak of my share in it
This saving work He’s wrought alone
No more the fool to believe I’d earn it
Or suppose I could deserve it
By words and deeds I’d call my own
From this day on
I know I’m saved by Him alone
My Lord and God
I’ll look to Him, and Him alone

7. Him, and Him Alone
Kenneth Cope
It's Still You
IT’S STILL YOU
(written by Kenneth Cope)
Bowing in awe of You, wanting to follow You
Tirelessly trying, but hopelessly flawed
Failing and fretting, each fall more upsetting
So near to regretting the child You made me
Bankrupt and begging more time to pay what’s due
But, then I learned the truth
After all I can do, it’s still You, it’s still You
You have come and corrected my view
Though I strain in pursuit, even all I can do, it’s still You
After all I can do, it’s still You
After all—even all I can do—it’s still You
Grateful for grace, recognizing Your face
In the image You trace on this natural man
Blessed metamorphosis—heaven transforming this spirit
Reborn to a bright beginning
Changing the heart from its dark and sinful hue
It’s what You do
After all I can do, it’s still You, it’s still You
You’re the Vine that gives the branches their fruit
There’s no hope to be holy and new without abiding in You
After all I can do, it’s still You
After all—even all I can do—it’s still You
God, great Father, You love the heart in its meekness
You delight to give strength where there’s weakness
If we’ll come to You
O Lord, Jesus—bountiful, merciful Savior
You delight to grant pardon and favor
If we’ll trust in You
Who will trust in You?
After all I can do, it’s still You, it’s still You
But You don’t wait till it’s all I can do
From the start till we’re through it is You, Lord
It’s still You
After all I can do, it’s still You
After all—even all I can do—it’s still You

See You in the Morning
SEE YOU IN THE MORNING
(written by Kenneth Cope)
—for Bryan—
Ode to my brother
Joker and saint
A little older in body
But so much older in faith
When we were just children
It was all fun and games
Till a flaw in our bloodlines
Made a home in his veins
The doc reassured him he’d be fine
Still he came home afraid to close his eyes at night
And no coaxing could prevail
Till I found these words to say
I’ll see you in the morning
When we rise and shine
When the light of tomorrow’s sun
Wakes up our eyes
We’ll take up once again at dawning
As if there never was a night
You’ll be seeing me
I’ll be seeing you
In the morning
And so it went
For days and years of mornings
But then without a warning
His eyes refused to see me one morning
And soon the blackness turned to storming
Till it had washed away all hope for another morning
He was sure only God could turn the tide
So he relinquished his will to live or die
And as his breath began to fade
And I thought my heart would break
He knew just what to say
I’ll see you on that morning
When I rise and shine
When the light of heaven’s Son
Wakes up these eyes
We’ll take up once again at dawning
As if there never was a night
You’ll be seeing me
I’ll be seeing you
In the morning
Look for me brother
I’ll come running to you, running to you, running
On that morning

More
MORE
(written by Kenneth Cope)
More steady, more sure
More trusted, more pure
Some say it doesn’t matter
More trained and more aware
More aim to get me there
I climb this far
You raise the bar
You want my heart
More fierce desire
To stand against the wind
More blazing fire
When dark is closing in
More love inspired change within
So there’s more and more of me to give
More words to learn and know
More etched upon my soul
Some say it doesn’t matter
More tried, more true
Less me, and much more You
I stretch this tall
You sound the call
You want my all
More fierce desire
To stand against the wind
More blazing fire
When dark is closing in
More love inspired change within
You keep reaching out—You’re calling out to me for
More strengthened shoulders
To face the war with sin
More wise and bolder
To save the souls of men
A more faithful soldier to the end
You want more and more of me to give
More and more of me to give
More love, more light, more purpose, more serve with all my might
I need more hope, more faith, more patience, each day I pray for more
More and more of me to give
More fire, more zeal, more spirit to know what’s real
More courage, more joy, more, more and more of me to give
More grateful, more true, more humble to trust and do
You call, I hear
I’ll walk the path that’s set in stone
My heart is fixed on getting home
And what on earth could ever matter more?
More and more of me to give

Your Father's Child
YOUR FATHER’S CHILD
(written by Kenneth Cope)
Strong and wise—captivating eyes
Magnificent being
Spirit bright, emanating light
Now hid from our seeing
You forget who you are
You, who outshone the stars
Amazing smile
You are your Father’s child
Son of Man, at the Lord’s right hand
Anointed as Savior
Power and grace, filling endless space
Reduced to a manger
He’d forget who He was
He, who outshone the sun
Yet, all the while
He was His Father’s child
Now there were none before or after like Him
He was God with us and is God still
In life and death His love for us defined Him
And to do His Father’s will
And so He came to save
Because you are your Father’s child
Here and now, when the fire goes out
And it keeps you from singing
When sad and gray seem to steal away
All joy and all meaning
When you’re broken in two
When your heart says you’re through
Come alive
You’re still your Father’s child
Find that smile
And be your Father’s child
