I often find that history can have both an enlightening and faith promoting effect. The same goes with science. I'm confident that God wants us to be curious, and to seek for answers on difficult questions. Even though both history and science may not always support our previous personal assumptions, investigating them as possible facts often leads to a deeper understanding, and eventually also a more developed or mature faith.
